TR2 Tank Rinse Nozzle
For use in tanks over 300 litres
C1-T Container Rinse Nozzle
For use in containers & tanks under 500 litres
The new TR2 rotary rinse nozzle is intended for tank capacities of 300 litres or more. Top mounted rinse nozzles allow multiple rinses using a fraction of the total tank volume. On spraying equipment the rinse volume is typically 10% of tank capacity per rinse, depending on the size and extent of boom plumbing. Used in conjunction with a clean water tank this gives operators a quick and effective method of rinsing out in the field.
Benefits
- Less risk of pollution
- No internal access required for rinsing
- Encourages timely and thorough cleaning out
- Minimum downtime
TR2 nozzles operate at flow rates of at least 50 litres/min and minimal pressure.
Rotor and boss are molded in polypropylene/acetyl. Spindle, nut and washer are stainless steel. End load is carried by a nylon thrust washer.
Fitting information
Two nozzles mounted under the tank roof are usually adequate for tanks up to 2500 litres, depending on tank shape. Suspending the nozzles up to 30 cm below the tank roof dramatically increases wash radius, allowing tanks of 5000 litres or more to be rinsed by two nozzles. More can be installed provided each is supplied with at least
50 l/min. Wash pattern covers an arc from 15 to 120 degrees from the vertical up axis, allowing flexibility in mounting position relative to the tank roof. The threaded boss can either be bulkhead fitted, passing through the roof with external plumbing, or be connected to plumbing fixed inside the tank.
The 1″ diameter threaded boss incorporates wrench flats and is available in either BSP(M) or NPT(M) thread options. The BSP(M) version accepts flat seal fittings and can be supplied with backnut, 90 deg. hosetail and rubber washers ready to accept a 1″ hose.
An extension pipe is available to suspend the nozzle 300 mm below the tank roof, the optimum position to maximize rinsate throw while still cleaning the overhead area directly above the nozzle. The nozzle is connected via a coupler at the lower end. The top end can pass through the tank roof and be fixed by two backnuts with enough thread to attach a hosetail fitting on the outside. This avoids the potential rinse shadows created by locating feed plumbing inside the tank.
The C1-T is suitable for rinsing smaller tanks and containers where the available flow rate is limited or less flow is required to achieve desired rinsing. The addition of a dispersion collar converts the C1 into a tank rinse nozzle suitable for tank sizes up to 500 litres, or larger if using more than one nozzle. Lateral projection is up to 1 m with minimal droop, continuing to over 1.5 m. Minimum flow recommended for the standard C1-T is 13 litres/min at 1.0 bar. A lower pressure version, C1-T Lo, can be specified that functions down to 0.75 bar delivering 10 liters/min.
Fitting
The C1-T can be fitted either way up. Inverted installation close to the tank roof allows tidier plumbing, but for elongated tanks or where the roof is ribbed or otherwise uneven the nozzle performs best mounted upright (ie. projecting upwards). Thread options: 1/2″ BSP(F) or 1/2″ NPT(F).
