Choosing the Right Tank
Underground Tanks:
In general, our underground tanks are built to three different standards:
Polyethylene Tanks
1Polyethylene underground tanks are an excellent alternative to fiberglass tanks for shallow burial applications. Polyethylene tanks can be installed up to 24″ deep and are lightweight and corrosion resistant. These tanks are perfect for the do-it-yourself home or cottage owner looking for a simple weekend project.
Polywest Regular Duty Tanks
2Regular Duty tanks are suitable for up to 5′ or 7′ cover, depending on the model. Regular Duty tanks are only suitable for dry locations (no water table) and must not exceed the depth listed on the tank. Conventional septic tanks and sewage treatment systems are only available in Regular Duty standards.
ZCL Composites Industrial Tanks
3All ZCL fiberglass tanks are suitable for 7′ cover in the harshest wet conditions where the tank can be fully submerged in water, even while empty, and they will not collapse or, when equipped with engineered deadman anchors, float out of the ground. All ZCL tanks are also suitable for H-20 traffic loads when installed exactly to the installation instructions. ZCL tanks are the only fiberglass-only tank where warranties aren’t voided in high watertable applications.
If your application calls for tanks that can be installed at burial depths beyond 7′, the ZCL tanks can be specially fabricated to work as well.
We have developed a site for consulting engineers, contractors, architects and industrial owners called TankSpecs.ca that deals with tanks for industrial applications. On TankSpecs.ca you can download tank design specifications for applicable industrial tanks.
If you are looking for an underground tank we’ve got many options that will suit your needs. Here are a few factors that you need to consider:
- Burial depth
- Ground water level / water tables
- Traffic loading
- Type
- Size
- Application
Above Ground Tanks:
Above Ground Polyethylene Tanks
In addition to our below ground tanks we carry above ground cistern and holding tanks. These 300 to 2000 Imperial gallon low profile tanks are ideal for storage in areas where height is an important consideration. The low profile tanks are designed to fit under a cottage or deck and feature deep ribs for extra strength. This line of tanks may be used for both black water and potable drinking water.
